About us

Our Story

From a young age, Carrie noticed the problems created by the existing intensive animal agriculture operations - all because of human's growing demand for meat. Not only are animals and the environment are harmed—we, too, are placed at risk of suffering from some less-than-ideal practices. 

Fish is the only kind of commonly consumed animal protein that still relies on catching from the wild.  Imagine we are still pouching animals for pork, beef and chicken.

An ocean without fish is no longer an ocean.

As for us, don't we worry from time to time what comes with our fish?  Are there any heavy metals, microplastics, parasites in the fish I eat without even knowing it?  What can we do better for us and our planet?

Carrie joins hands with biotech expert Dr Mario Chin to turn the vision into reality. Avant has developed not just an alternative way of producing animal protein but a better, kinder way.
